Cash Equivalents

Last updated Over 1 year ago

What are Cash Equivalents?

Cash equivalents are short-term, highly liquid investments that are easily convertible into cash within three months and carry minimal risk of losing value. These assets are treated almost the same as cash because of their stability and quick accessibility. Examples include Treasury bills, commercial paper, and money market funds.
