What is Intangible Assets?
Intangible assets are non-physical assets that have value and provide long-term benefits to a company. Unlike buildings or equipment, these assets can’t be touched, but they often play a key role in a company’s success. Examples: Patents, trademarks, copyrights, and brand names. Intangible assets are usually listed on the balance sheet if they are acquired and can be measured reliably.
